Devotional Guide for Wednesday, December 5

Galatians 3:26-4:7

Reflect
My son asked me once, “When does a boy become a man?” What would you say? Is it an age thing? A maturity thing? There is a time for this to happen. As God continued to unfold His perfect plan, there was a perfect time for His Son to be born. A faultless time for God’s massive rescue strategy to shift into motion. The radicalness of the Son of God being born to a virgin woman is too outlandish to be made up. As we approach the second Advent, we have been drawn to the purpose of Jesus’ birth. Verse 5 proclaims that Jesus came to ‘redeem those under the law’. Jesus came to deliver us out of slavery. His invitation is that we will abandon all self-help projects and courageously trust Him to resolve our past, empower our present, and provide hope for the future. God has perfect timing for you as well. You are the Father’s child and He desires for you to experience the satisfaction of a soul that is fully alive.

How are your decisions demonstrating that you trust Him with every public and private area of your life? How is your spiritual posture indicating that you embrace the power of God in your life?
