John 2:1-11

Reflect
I come from a German heritage where a celebratory meal means an abundance of good food. Something’s wrong if a meal made by my mom doesn’t have at least 3 options of every item to choose from.  At the wedding in Cana something has gone wrong and the feast that could last several more days, has no more wine.  What was served has already been exhausted.  That would put a dent in your party.  Jesus miraculously replaces water with a wine far superior. There’s deep truth there.  Anything you or I have to offer or what we’ve prepared will run out, and it pales in comparison to what Jesus has to offer us.  He has brought us something far superior.

Are there any places in your life where you’ve “run out of wine”?  Where have you exhausted your own resources and come up empty?  Where is the Lord inviting you to go to Him for renewal. Where is He offering a way that is far superior?
