John 4:1-26

Reflect
I love reading this story of Jesus talking with the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well. I love that we have a Saviour who doesn’t just speak to the masses, but also comes to us so intentionally and personally.
Jesus has a way of cutting right to the heart of a person, but does so in such a way that they feel seen, not shamed, and known, not disgraced. In this interaction Jesus brings up a difficult aspect of this woman’s journey. But He doesn’t condemn or shame her. He offers her another way. He offers life.
This is how Jesus desires to relate to us as well. He knows all of the things we’ve done, the things that we’re ashamed of and try to hide. But He’s come to sit down beside us and say, “I see you. There can be a different way.” Our choice then is to lean in, or run away. I pray that we would all have the courage to lean in a little closer today.
