Devotional Guide for Saturday, March 16

1 John 2:18-27

Reflect
We are living in an interesting time in our culture today, a time where words like “truth” and “lies” have become subjective words. Spend just a couple of minutes online and you can find anyone telling you that anything is true. Truth has become more about the person and individual, and less about the source. So, what are we to do? John tells us that truth is intimately intertwined with Jesus Christ and God the Father. As we remain in Christ and in the Father, we will know truth. Once we separate ourselves from Jesus and the Father, we separate ourselves from truth.

Apply
As we interact with the people around us, and as we continue to live in the world, we need to continue to find our centre in Jesus and look to Him as our authority on truth. This is the lens, or filter that everything runs through. Draw close to Jesus Christ and God our Father, and we will know truth.
