Luke 23:6-25
Reflect
In today’s passage we can see God’s plan unfolding as Jesus is taken before Pilate and Herod. They find Him not guilty, but the religious leaders continue to press for a crucifixion, the very thing Jesus knew would take place. What I find interesting is that both Pilate and Herod are curious about Jesus, but they don’t go beyond just being curious. Herod was hoping for some show of power, a miracle maybe. But Jesus didn’t comply, and Herod dismissed Him as just another person.

As I was reading this passage, I was challenged to consider how I view Jesus. Am I just curious about Him, and hoping He’ll do something amazing? Have I written Him off completely and don’t want anything to do with Him? Or do I see Him as God’s Son sent to us to fulfil His calling, to be crucified for our sins? As we continue in this Lent season, please take time to consider who Jesus is to you.
