Preparation for Sunday, June 16

Acts 16:16-40

Reflect
Today as Pastor Lyle resumes his series in the book of Acts, we will look at the story of Paul and Silas being unjustly put in jail and then given freedom as a result of an earthquake and all the miraculous events that were part of it.  The reaction of Paul and Silas to all that was going on reveals some profound truths about prayer.

Apply

  • When you read that Paul and Silas were “singing hymns” after being beaten and placed in chains, what thoughts and feelings does this evoke in you?
  • We are told that the prisoners were listening to Paul and Silas pray and sing hymns.  What do you think might have being going through their minds as the events of the night transpired?
  • After listening to this morning’s message, how do you believe God is asking you to respond?
  • Ask God to work in the hearts of all who will be attending our services today.
