Reflect
This Psalm shows David’s desire to conduct his life, and also his household, with integrity. For this to happen, he must set some standards for his life, and must rely on God’s strength to follow through. It is important to note the steps he determines to take in order to live a blameless life:
He will not look with approval on anything that is vile/evil.
He will not associate with the perverse of heart, or evil.
He will not join others in malicious gossip, those who are proud, deceitful and false.
In order to follow these guidelines, he knew he had to listen to and keep his eyes fixed on, those who are faithful and good role models.

At the age of fourteen I committed my life to Christ and desired to live in a way that pleased Him. When I read this Psalm, like David, I desired to live in integrity. It changed what I chose to watch on TV, at the theatre, what I read, who I called friends, and who I wanted as a role model. Help us, dear God, to live daily with integrity.
