Philippians 2:19-24
Reflect
One of the most important things we are invited into as followers of Jesus is making disciples. At it’s most basic understanding, disciple making is simply finding others and helping them become like Jesus. For some of us this may look more like apprenticing; bringing others along in what we are already doing in our walk with Jesus and helping them out. For others it may be more intentional; setting aside time on a regular basis to pursue Jesus together. The Apostle Paul believed in making disciples and one of his ”disciples” was Timothy. In today’s passage we read the endorsement that Paul gives of Timothy to the church in Philippi. What I want us to focus on today is the relationship that was behind that endorsement. Paul had invested into Timothy to the point that he was willing to send him out on his behalf to a church that he had a considerable love for and desire to see grow and thrive. Not only that, he could do it with confidence and assurance that Timothy would be received by the people.

Who is your Timothy? Who are the one or two people that you are investing in, to help them grow in their relationship with Jesus? Would you be able to make an endorsement about them like Paul does for Timothy, understanding the important role you played in their lives?
