1 Corinthians 15:12-34

Reflect

In the passage we are looking at today, Paul is making a claim that, because of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead, we as His followers will also experience a resurrection from the dead when “all things are put under the subjection” (v. 27) of Jesus Christ. He starts this teaching by highlighting the importance of Christ’s resurrection, stating that if Christ was not raised from the dead, our faith is futile (Pastor Lyle had a great sermon about this on Easter Sunday. If you missed it, be sure to go online and check it out). What I briefly want to highlight is the invitation of the resurrection. Because of Jesus’ resurrection, we can rest assured that death will not hold us. This should invite us to a life of passionate declaration of Jesus. Paul says that he puts himself in danger every day. This isn’t because he is making bad decisions. It’s because he is so sure of the resurrection that he is willing to proclaim Jesus as Lord to the point of death. How is God inviting you to live in light of the reality of the resurrection?
