1 Corinthians 15:35-58

Reflect

In reading this passage, we get a glimpse into the reality that we were not created for this world. Right now, we have bodies that are perishable, dishonourable, and weak. But that’s not the end of the story. One day when everything is made right and complete again, we will receive bodies that are imperishable, glorious, and powerful; bodies fit for an eternal life with God. So what do we do in the mean time? Just wait, knowing that something better is coming one day? By no means! Verse 58 says, “Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.” Because of the resurrection of Jesus, we have the opportunity to be a part of God’s Kingdom coming to earth now. All of our service to Christ is investing in God’s Kingdom coming to our communities, workplaces, and schools today! We don’t have to wait for anything. This is the life we have now.
