Colossians 4:2-4

Reflect

At our recent Spiritual Formation Retreat, I had the participants consider what it means to pray steadfastly. I suggested that it likely includes these four angles: 1. Find joy in being dependent upon God. Our prayers help us to experience His blessings; 2. Constantly pray. I know it’s hard not to be distracted; intentionally remind yourself you are walking with God wherever you journey; 3. Don’t give up!  You’ve been praying for some things/people for years, even decades. Keep praying. Don’t allow fatigue to set in. Your prayers do not go unheard; and 4. Consistently. Yes, for sure I embrace #2, and I get that we walk with Jesus in all of our journeys, and we should realize that He never leaves us, and yet my prayer life has been greatly enhanced by regularly planned times of prayer. In the morning, the evening, weekly extended prayer times, monthly full days of prayer. Plan intentionally when you can set aside all else and pray. Pray right now that the Lord would guide you to a far deeper, impactful prayerful experience!
