Galatians 3:26-4:4

Reflect

As we continue to discover what it looks like for us to live life WITH God, today’s passage reminds us that there aren’t as many classifications of people or believers as we might sometimes think there are.  Paul drives home the point that all believers, no matter what race, sex, occupation, CFL team they cheer for, etc., are sons of God because of their faith in Christ Jesus.  I like how Paul states it at the end of verse 28 “…for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”  If we are truly living WITH God, then we need to make room in our lives for those who don’t look like us, those from different backgrounds and traditions.  Paul is saying because of a shared faith in Christ, we are all one and we are all heirs to the promise given to Abraham.  We have an amazing future awaiting us.

Pray

  • Pray for all our small group leaders.
  • Pray for our Congregational Life Pastors, Sharon Harewood and Christine Okken.
  • Pray for Chain of Love, which began in 1993 in the city of Novo Hamburgo, Brazil. A rapidly growing number of children had been hopelessly abandoned to fend for themselves on dangerous city streets. Out of love and concern for God’s children, a ministry called Chain of Love was born. Individual homes were constructed and staffed with foster parents. Each couple accepts ten children, in addition to their own. There are presently 80 children being nurtured in a loving and caring environment in our eight homes. The children’s ages range from birth to eighteen years. Already more than 400 children have been rescued from the streets and given a loving home with a caring Christian family. But the need is still great, and your help is urgently needed.
