Devotional Guide for Tuesday, November 13

Acts 27:27-44

Reflect
I read recently, “there are no emergencies for God”.  For us, situations might feel like emergencies, but He’s not caught off guard, in a panic or confused by what may seem out of control to us.  Here we find a true chaotic situation for Paul. It does not look good. In fact, it looks completely out of control. I’m sure everyone on board but Paul is terrified.  But there is no chaos here for God, and Paul anchors in that.  God’s purposes are being accomplished in the prisoners, the people, the landing on Malta.  He is fully in control despite the appearance of chaos.

Apply
How available are you to the Lord and what He will accomplish (even when we can’t see it) in the chaos situations you are in? What certainty does He give you today? How does His authority and control speak life and encouragement to you?
