Converge Retreat, January 11-13, 2019 at Camp Caroline
Registration for the Converge Retreat is open. Please contact Pastor Daunavan or Kara Levenick (email@example.com) if you have any questions.
Join us for our annual Alberta-wide young adults retreat at Camp Caroline. This retreat is for young adults aged 18-mid 30’s and is open to young adults from different churches*, denominations, walks of life, and stages of life (Married Couples and Young children are welcome but there will be no childcare provided).
Expect a lot of time to unwind, engage with God, make good friends, experience powerful times of worship and teaching, play sports and games, and enjoy a beautiful facility located in the heart of the Alberta foothills.
We are expecting higher registration numbers than usual, so please register soon to secure the cheaper rates (the cabins only hold about 120 people, so once they fill up we will be charging the Aspen rate).
Worship will be Led by HopefulSon Worship Collective
This year we are excited to be bringing in the HopefulSon worship collective to lead us in worship. HopefulSon is a collection of musicians, songwriters & worship leaders based out of Alberta, Canada, who are passionate about creating worship experiences that make it easy to engage with Jesus. The heart behind our music, whether we are writing, performing, recording or leading worship, is always to draw people into moments of closeness with God. Our albums are comprised of songs we have written in our devotional time, both alone and as a community, which we believe are not just for us, but for the church. Our Hope is always that God takes hold of our music and uses it to draw his people into moments of friendship and joy with Him. (From their website) - https://www.hopefulson.com/ . Watch here.
Speaker and Theme : TJ Green, "To Know God and Make Him Known"
Pastor T.J. Green is first and foremost a lover of God, a husband to beautiful wife Rita and father to Dax. Ordained with Open Bible Faith Fellowship, he is currently a full-time traveling minister. He has been in full-time ministry since 2006. T.J. was heavily involved in teaching and running supernatural schools, pouring into the next generation of revivalists, raising up young men and women to move in the power and love of God.

The Facility and What to Do:
The retreat is very loosely scheduled. Outside of main sessions, there is no formal schedule for the weekend. This gives lots of time for people to build relationships, enjoy the camp, and unwind (yes, if you need to study, there is WiFi at the camp and time built into the weekend for this). Activities at the camp include a tubing hill, a swimming pool (with hot tub), a gymnasium, proximity (5 minute drive) to skating rinks in Caroline (if you want to play hockey), a beautiful property (for hiking and exploring), a chapel, and buffet style meals. We encourage attendees to bring board games, card games, and things to do with others. Click here for a map of the camp.
We will be organizing a carpool from Edmonton on January 11 from 5:00-6:30. If you are going with a different group but would still need a ride (or could give a ride), please consider coming to McKernan Baptist Church (11103 76 Ave.) before heading out to camp. More details about carpool will be sent in later emails.
We have two types of lodging – hotel style (called Aspen) and cabin style.
Aspen rooms can have up to four people, each room has full mattresses and an en-suite bathroom. Cabin style rooms have up to 8 people per room and a bit smaller mattresses, but they are much cheaper than Aspen rooms. (If you are using the student rate, that only counts towards a cabin-style room).
All of these rates are to cover the cost of the camp as well as subsidies for leaders and students. If these costs are prohibitive, please email Pastor Daunavan (Daunavan@mckernanbaptist.ca).
Student Rate: $110 cabin only (no early bird rate). Only 80 spots are available at this rate, so register now!
Early bird rates, available until December 19:
- Cabin: $120
- Aspen: $150
- Married Couple: $300 (children under 2 are free/over 2 please contact Pastor Daunavan)
