Jonah 3

Reflect
This spring I had the chance to go rock climbing with our Focus 3 group.  Climbing the wall was hard but with some good encouragement from below, I made it to the top of the 40’ish foot high wall.  At the top, I celebrated a little and then prepared to descend.  To come down, the belayer (the one who takes up the slack in the rope I am tied to) told me to face the wall, let go with my hands, sit back and push off with my legs, and he would lower me down.  Decision time.  At that height a fall would surely result in serious injury, if not death.  Did I really believe and trust in the belayer and the rope?

Apply
The people of Nineveh believed God. They trusted that He was able to do what He said.  In doing so they had to repent, let go of their own will and submit to the will of God.  How about us?  Is the life God intends for us to live, a life where we believe in His provision?  Are there places in our life where we can lean back and push away from things we are holding on to, believing God is there supporting us?
