Jeremiah 36:1-32
Reflect
Everything looks bad. Jerusalem is under siege, Jeremiah is under house arrest for prophesying the Babylonian’s invasion (as a result of Judah’s sin), and takeover is imminent. Not a good time to be purchasing land. Yet, the Lord is using this act as a symbolic reminder to His people of a future. They will learn a long hard lesson about obedience and God’s authority, but then He will restore them back to their promised land and they will have a tender renewed heart toward Him. Nothing is too hard for God, and His greatest desire is for real relationship with Him. In the same way Jeremiah had the right of redemption of land, how beautiful that our Father chooses to redeem us!

Do you have difficulty turning to God in bleak circumstances? What purpose might He be accomplishing in you? Is there something He is calling you to be obedient in? What work of redemption is He doing in you right now?
