Matthew 12:38-45

Reflect
While I was growing up in inner city Winnipeg, I didn’t get to see much beyond our neighbourhood (although I knew every yard that had a garden!). I still remember the first time that I saw the mountains. Suddenly my awareness of reality was greatly expanded. As we’ve woven through the Good News According to Matthew, Jesus has provided the best teaching ever delivered (reality is expanded), then Jesus displayed mesmerizing miracles (reality expanded). Today’s passage has Jesus expanding our awareness to the reality of the universe that is rarely seen but regularly experienced. In the spiritual realm, there are evil spirits that desire your ruin (reality expanded). Do not allow yourself to be satisfied with anything less than the life that Jesus is calling you to experience. That life will be a constant experience of reality being expanded as you stay close to Jesus. There is a demon that is causing you to be stunted in your spiritual maturity. No amount of counselling, medication, or even prayer meetings will rid you of this demon. The reality is, Jesus alone has what it takes for you to experience victory.

What are you struggling with by denying the reality of the source of your battle? Prayerfully bring that before the Lord, and don’t hesitate to ask for help.
