1 Corinthians 15:1-11

Reflect

Andrea has an impressive floral and produce garden. A while back, Ducky (a very lovable, energetic golden retriever) joined our family. Up went a fence around the garden. The only way into the garden is the gate. The gate serves a wonderful purpose. Going through the gate is super crucial. There is no access into all the riches of the garden without going through the gate. One would not be able to enjoy the carrots, beets, beans, raspberries, etc, unless one is willing to go through the gate. It would also be very unusual behaviour to go through the gate, and then stay there. Perhaps even calling out to others to come through the gate but treading no further. Can you picture the person that for the rest of their life keeps telling others the good news of the gate, but not showing evidence that they are enjoying the garden that the gate allows access to enjoy? Their testimony of going through the gate is well rehearsed as well as vividly endearing; but what of the garden?

Apply
By the grace-filled work of Jesus on the cross, you have access through the “gate”. How will your enjoyment of the “garden” today draw others to join with you?
