Exodus 20:8-11
Reflect
Today we come to the fourth commandment and the first that is written in a positive tone. “Remember the Sabbath Day in order to keep it holy.”
This command to remember carries more weight than just a casual acknowledgement of the day. It carries the weight of having a concrete demonstration of remembering. There is an expectation of action involved in the remembering.
We are told to remember the Sabbath because God also rested after completing the creation story. When Israel rested on the seventh day, they not only followed God’s command, but they were following God’s lead.

As you re-read this passage today, how are you remembering the Sabbath? Are you following God’s lead on how to live out your week?

Crystal Dueck (Greater Europe Mission)
This last year in Frankfurt has been amazing, as I settle more and more into my ministry roles with Mosaik! Expanding our Hospitality Team has been one of my biggest focuses, which is now made up of our Sunday Host, Coffee Team, Potluck Team and any food-related ministries during the week. This has been a true joy, allowing me to dig deeper into my passions with food, hospitality and loving on people, allowing my team and I to practice practical discipleship. God has also opened the doors to build more relationships with people in the church, and I have built some good friendships and many that are more ministry friendships. I am still helping within youth and young adult ministries, admin, building facilities management, cleaning and practical support to the pastors and our main pastors’ families.
