Ephesians 6:19-24

Reflect

I love that Paul ends this letter to the Ephesians with a request that the Church in Ephesus be praying for him as well. After all that he has to say about what the gospel really means and the practical ways we’re called fulfil God’s purpose, and after all the encouragement and hopes that he shared, he’s saying to them that he too doesn’t have what it takes to fully live out his calling on his own. He needs their prayers as well!

Certainly, all of us could use each other’s prayers as we try to live out our calling in our day to day lives. But may I use this opportunity to ask something on behalf of the pastors here at McKernan? Just like Paul asked the church in Ephesus to be praying for him, we as pastors need you to be praying for us as well! Like Paul, it is our hope to be able to make known the mystery of the gospel to the world around us, and that we would fearlessly declare the good news of Jesus Christ. But we need your prayers!

It’s such a gift to be able to live our lives and callings together. Please pray for us as we pray for you.
