ABOUT Worship Info

Sunday Service Information

We have two Sunday worship services: 9am and 11am. Our services typically begin with a time of worship music and include a teaching portion as well as a time for corporate prayer. Both services also accommodate a time for children (aged from Nursery to Grade 6) in our Nursery and Sunday School programs.

Use the buttons below to view our 9am service online (live) or browse our video and podcast libraries for past services.

Occasional Events During Sunday Service

Communion

We practice communion on the first Sunday of every month. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour (a believer) you are welcome to participate in this ordinance as well. Please do not feel obligated to participate.

Baptism

We baptize by immersion. This is a public declaration of a believer’s personal commitment to Christ. Usually, the individual gives a testimony of what Christ has done in their life, then the pastor immerses the individual in a pool of water as a symbol of dying to self and being raised to life in Christ. We periodically conduct baptism classes that provide biblical foundations for baptism and allow you to ask any questions pertaining to faith and baptism.

Child Dedication

This is an opportunity for parents to dedicate themselves to raising their child in the ways of Christ. Generally, they say a few words to their child, followed by the pastor praying for the family. This does not constitute salvation for the child, but rather, a desire to see the child raised up in the knowledge of Christ so that one day they will be able to make a decision for themselves.

Commissioning

We regularly have the privilege of commissioning McKernan attenders as they follow God’s leading into various ministry appointments, short-term and long-term missions opportunities. This often involves a brief overview of the work they are planning to do, followed by a prayer to send them out.

Children's Worship Service Information

All children programs are available during both services and are located on the lower level of the church, in either the Nursery area, the Multipurpose area (Ages 2 – Grade 4), or Classroom 8 (Route 56). For more information, email Pastor Jerilyn.

Our Sunday School programs accommodate the following age groups:

Nursery

Our Nursery is a safe and clean environment that gives ample space for your babies to play, explore, crawl and interact with other children their age. We also have a Quiet Room for nursing mothers.

Early Childhood (Ages 2 – 4)

This is by far the happiest and most energetic group! They begin their time with free play then they have a Bible story, a snack and do a craft to reinforce the learning. They are encouraged to learn and share with their parents a monthly key Bible truth and verse.

Elementary (K – Grade 4)

Each Sunday begins with a large group time of worship, prayer and experiencing God’s Word. After this, they divide into age groups to discuss their lesson further while participating in games, crafts and activities.

Route 56 (Grade 5 – 6)

This age group experiences worship time with their families in the main service and then go downstairs for their Bible lesson, discussions, games and activities. On the first Sunday of every month, they spend the full service with their families.

Check-In Procedure

For convenience, the programs accept check-ins 15 minutes before and after each service.

Parents are expected to sign in their children at the registration desk and provide any special instructions to the attending leader.

After registering for their respective classes, weekly check-ins provide two name tags (one each for parent and child) to ensure the security of the check-in/pick-up process.

For parents of children in the Nursery program, the following supplies are required to be left with the Sunday School attendant every week:

  • Diapers
  • Pacifier
  • Change of clothes
  • Milk/formula/juice/water

For parents of children in the Ages 2-4 program, the following supplies are required to be left with the Sunday School attendant every week:

  • Diapers

Pick-Up Procedure

Parents of children must first sign them out at the registration desk THEN go to the appropriate area to pick them up.

NOTE: Please make every effort to have the same parent drop off AND pick up your child.

  1. You may be tapped on the shoulder during the service to change your child’s diaper(s) if they’re not potty-trained.
  2. Parents are encouraged to team up together for nursery duty. Talk to one of the leaders to request a security clearance form.
