Colossians 1:24-29

Reflect

Having recently spent two weeks with my 89-year-old Dad, has made me think about what makes a life valuable. Paul answers this question in today's passage! This life is not given to us to be concerned about our comfort. Paul writes about his suffering for the sake of the church.

Why not look at our calendars and set priorities that reflect a life of concern for God's kingdom? Or ask God for courage to talk about the hope that is within you?

Paul puts every effort in to let everyone know the mystery of our faith--Christ in us! The hope of glory! God had promised from the start to restore and redeem mankind. This secret was revealed in Jesus. However, think about what mystery still remains. The Spirit lives within us and brings fruit.  (Gal 2:20) It is not our own efforts, but walking in the Spirit in the good deeds that God prepared for us.

In Ephesians 2:10 Paul has very clear advice for us. Proclaim Him!

Seize the day--be proactive! Pray and be courageous.

Admonish and teach every man with wisdom.

Speak the truth with Love!  Admonish is a strong word, and Paul's goal and instruction to us is to help one another mature in our walk with Jesus by His power!
