Preparation for Sunday, November 26

Galatians 6:11-18

This morning Pastor Nathanael will be wrapping up our series on the book of Galatians.

We’ve made some major accomplishments as a human race: the creation of the internet has connected us in ways we could’ve never imagined; the development of vaccinations; traveling to space and landing on the moon; renewable energy sources and much more. We have lots to be proud of! Sometimes we boast about our parenting and how well our kids were raised, our career or achievements, or perhaps our traditions and heritage. It’s our natural inclination to be proud of certain achievements that required a lot of time and energy, and we should be proud in healthy doses, but they mustn’t glory over the cross.

Paul finishes his letter with a concentrated effort to centralize their focus to glory in the cross.

Apply
1. What are the things in your life that you tend to boast about or find your identity in?
a. How might your perspective on these sources of boasting change if you were to prioritize boasting in the cross of Christ?
2. How does the concept of living by the rule of grace impact your daily life, decision-making, and interactions with others?
a. In what ways can you extend grace to yourself and others, recognizing that we are all works in progress?
