Preparation for Christmas, December 24

4th Sunday of Advent: The Wonder of His Love
Luke 1:26-56, 2:1-38; John 3:16; Romans 5:8

I’m sure you have heard the saying, “Actions speak louder than words.” You may have even experienced a time in your life when you have said “show me, don’t just talk about it.”

Today is the 4th Sunday of Advent and we are looking at the Wonder of His Love and how God didn’t just say He loved us, but how He gave us a living example of what His love looks like.

What makes this love so different is how we can’t do anything to earn it. God’s love is a gift to us. Think about Mary, who she was, what society thought she might have to offer, which was small, yet God chose her. Simeon was given a promise and God followed through by allowing him to see the Messiah before he died.

Now take a moment and look at yourself in a mirror. God has already demonstrated His wonderous love for you by sending His son Jesus to be the ultimate sacrifice so we can be in a right relationship with Him.

Today as you reflect on the Christmas story, may it come alive for you in a new way. May you experience the Wonder of His Love for you in deep and meaningful ways. Merry Christmas.
