Devotional Guide for Tuesday, January 30

Matthew 8:14-17

Reflect

A simple touch can heal disease and a simple word can deliver from demonic power. Jesus, all powerful Creator and ultimate authority, compassionate and loving Messiah. Jesus has power over sin, the root of all physical and spiritual affliction. The Kingdom has come, through Jesus, and is a taste of what our eternity with Him will be.

I recently heard of the testimony of a seminary professor who was facing a terminal disease. He shared with his students that if he was healed, all would see the Glory of God, but if he wasn’t, he would see the Glory of God. The Kingdom of God is now, and will forever be.

Peter’s mother-in-law was blessed by Jesus’ healing touch, and she immediately got up and served Him. We have all experienced Jesus’ compassionate deliverance in our lives over sin, physical sickness, and spiritual affliction. Our response should be of service to Jesus, by serving those around us in need.
