2 Corinthians 1:1-11

Reflect

Paul begins this letter by praising the God of ALL COMFORT. He declares that our God is a God of compassion, for He comforts us in ALL our troubles – not just some of our troubles. There is a purpose for this comfort, and it is so that we can comfort others in any trouble with the comfort we have received. Paul comments that his troubles were beyond his ability to endure and that he despaired of life itself. Yet God came through, delivering him and with confidence he declares that God will deliver him again!

Apply

Is there a trouble in your life where you need God’s comfort? Place your trust in the God of compassion. He is faithful and will bring it to pass. You in turn will have the privilege of ministering to someone in trouble with the same comfort you have received.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Praise Him today for His comfort in your life.

Reflect upon the times He comforted you.

Thank Him that He will comfort you tomorrow – even when you face despair.

Ask Him to give you words and actions that will comfort someone in need.
