Isaiah 30:15-22

Reflect

I have often said to my children if someone is insisting that 7x5=32, sometimes you need to say, “I hope that works out for you”. Be patient and wait. It won’t work out, but it’s also not worth an argument. It may be through a gentle correction or encountering the harsh reality, but they’ll learn. God observes how the culture has shifted dramatically from His ways. The leaders have influenced people to believe a false reality; they have created false gods and bowed down to them. That was true in Isaiah’s time as well as today. It has infiltrated the lives of each one of us to various degrees. The confusion that comes from the endless barrage of voices complicates godly advancement. In verse 21 we have this stunning image of God being the advocate, instructing us how to advance, to proceed into the mysterious, challenging opportunities He provides for us. How are you developing an ear to distinguish His voice? God is patient and invites us to journey with Him, but He is also advancing His Kingdom. Pray that you and all of our church would listen intently for the directions He is wanting us to go in, and that we’d have the courage to advance.
