Matthew 27:27-31

 Reflect

I’ve been thinking about headlines lately and the increasing push to marginalize Christians and our faith.  Particularly in school and university settings, I see our kids increasingly scorned when they stand up for truth.  There are times when this is so hard.  How does Jesus do it in this passage?  How does the Son of God remain silent in the face of unjust mockery?  Three things come to mind that we need to be reminded of.  Jesus knows His identity.  He knows His purpose and He has His sights set on a place that isn’t temporary.

How do these three truths speak to you today as you face opposition and difficulties: standing in your identity, confident in your purpose, eyes set on eternal realities?  How does God need to realign your perspectives and position?  Dwell in this today:  What is my identity, purpose and position today before God?
