Devotional Guide for Saturday, October 13

Acts 14:21-28

Reflect
An interesting fact subtly included in this passage is that Paul and Barnabas, once they had gotten to the end of their journey at Lystra and Derbe, took the longer route that went through the cities they had previously visited instead of taking the shorter route to get home. They did this specifically so they could continue to encourage and strengthen the people who they previously preached the Gospel to. They went out of their way to visit again with the people they had shared with earlier. This journey wasn’t just about sharing the Good News and moving on to the next city, but Paul and Barnabas showed this ongoing care for the people they served.

Are there people in our lives that we intentionally shared the Gospel with but haven’t been in touch with lately? Maybe God is inviting us to get in contact again and see how they’re doing.
