Devotional Guide for Saturday, December 30

Isaiah 54:4-10, Romans 8:37-39

Reflect

Growing up, we all received different messages about love through the media and our own relationships.

Whatever messages we have learned or have experienced about love will never compare to the love God has for us. Our passage in Romans gives us a compelling picture of the love God has for us. Nothing will be able to separate us from it. God says in Isaiah 54:10, “My unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed.”

There is nothing you could do that would separate you from the love of God. There is nothing that could happen in life that could separate you from the love of Christ. Because of this great love, God gave His son Jesus that we might be saved and have life in Him.

Sometimes it’s hard to believe in the love God has for us. That’s where faith comes in, faith to take God at His word and believe what He says.

Apply

If we really, deep down, believe that nothing can separate us from God’s love, how does that change how we live today?
How does it change how we love the people around us?
