Luke 7:36-50
Today, we are considering the question Jesus asks his dinner host: “Do you see this woman?”
Simon saw the worst of sinners behaving inappropriately by caressing Jesus’ feet, making a fool of herself (not that her reputation could get much lower), and making everyone else tremendously uncomfortable.
Jesus saw something radically different. He saw a woman who knew the depths of His forgiveness, lavishly hosting the Lord. She was bold. She responded to the King of Kings with sincere adoration and no care for how others perceived her.

Do you see the woman? Where are you in this story? Are you more in line with Simon’s posture or with the woman’s posture? Where is the Holy Spirit inviting you to be?
