Colossians 3:12-17

Reflect

Congratulations! You have been chosen!

Do you recall a time when you were selected for a team, a program, a school, or a job? How did you feel? Were you excited to put on the team uniform? Did you begin a bit unsure, but looked forward to when you would feel and be fully integrated into the culture, adopting its ethos? Today’s passage is your welcome letter with your initial instructions of how to be part of the people of God, including what to wear and what the expectations are. Do you feel excited? Are you filled with anticipation? If not, consider why that might be.

In your own words, make a list of what is expected by a dearly loved and chosen person – you! As you consider this list, what comes easily for you? What looks challenging? What is Holy Spirit highlighting for you?

Brothers and sisters, it’s my joy to be on this this team, the family of God, with you. Don’t let go of the glorious delight and privilege it is to be chosen!
