Matthew 21:1-6

Reflect

I don’t know what stood out to you in today’s passage, but for me one word jumped out and that was the word “humble”.

Jesus is about to enter Jerusalem for the last time. We know the full story and what is about to happen to Him, and I like to believe Jesus knew that as well. But instead of putting on His game face and preparing to go toe-to-toe with people, Jesus enters Jerusalem with a posture of humility.

I was convicted to reflect on my own posture as I head into my day. Into my meetings, into my different roles as a husband, father, friend, supervisor, pastor, etc., and to honestly look at how I carry myself into them. Am I entering the day before me, the day the Lord is giving me, prepared for battle or a confrontation or with a posture of humility? I want to walk as Jesus did and to lead with a humble spirit.

Will you join me in this pursuit?

Pray for Joost and Cheryl Pikkert – (Wycliffe)

Over the past several decades many Wycliffe Bible translators have worked with national mother tongue speakers from all over the world.  These Africans, Asians, North and South Americans, Pacific Islanders and Aboriginals have sped up the task of global Bible translation but this success has incurred another challenge: the lack of highly trained Bible translation consultants necessary to check the quality of these newly drafted Bible translations.  The new translation drafts need to be checked for accuracy, clarity, naturalness and acceptability by credentialed Bible translation experts before they are cleared for printing. Joost and Cheryl are engaged in trying to solve the shortage of Bible translation consultants by training Bible translation consultants around the world.  Their focus is to upgrade the skills of promising national mother tongue translators so that they can then become Bible translation consultants.
