Matthew 12:15-21

Reflect
What happens when we encounter injustice?  When we are treated unjustly it will often cause us to cry “foul”, or demand some kind of correction.  When we are aware of injustice for others, we may be inclined to act on behalf of another to seek justice for them. Matthew reminds us here that Jesus came to bring justice to the nations. When He brings justice through to victory, He will be the source of hope for all nations, or for all people. How can He do this? Jesus is able to do this because He Himself is the only One to have walked this earth who is just, right and true in every way.

Apply
When it comes to justice, what is the life God intends for us to live? Micah 6:8 gives us some help when it says, “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” As we walk humbly with our God, may justice and mercy be evident in our lives.
