Psalm 117

Reflect

Today’s Psalm is a call for the nations to praise the Lord because of the relationship God has had with Israel. In verse 2 we read the word “love”, which is translated from the word hesed, which can be translated as love, but also conveys a sense of loyalty and covenantal fidelity. God has been faithful to His people through good and bad. God keeps His covenants with His people. When Israel was following God faithfully and when they fell away, God was faithful. As we read this passage today, let us stop and be reminded of God’s faithfulness to His people throughout history, and in our own lives as well. Take time to Praise the Lord today. Journal how you have experienced his hesed toward you.
