Devotional Guide for Thursday, November 26

Philippians 1:3-9

Reflect
“I thank my God every time I remember you…” (v3). Today as you spend time in prayer, pause and ask the Holy Spirit to bring to mind people you are thankful for, people who have had an impact or influence in your life. This could be from a time when you were young or more recently, but as they come to mind, pray for them and thank God for their influence in your life. “…I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel…” (vs4b-5a) Take time to pray for our church – for the board, the pastoral team, the volunteers, the people you used to sit near on Sunday mornings, our daycare, etc. Thank God for them and for the partnership they have in the Gospel. Pray we would continue to live well a life that reflects Jesus to the world around us. As you close your time of prayer, reflect on the truth of this verse: “…being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (v6)

Pray for Aaron Cranton - Old Strathcona Street Outreach MissionThe Father has called me to journey, in the Spirit of Christ, alongside our homeless and marginalized neighbours providing emotional, physical, spiritual, mental and relational support directly and through partnerships with community organizations. Pray that God would continue to work powerfully and effectively through the Old Strathcona Street Outreach Mission to bring thorough and lasting transformation to our neighbours on the street. Pray that our homeless and marginalized friends would know the hope of Christ. Pray that we would all use His spiritual gifts and blessings in the way that He’s called us to as we walk alongside one another in our journey from brokenness to wholeness.
