Devotional Guide for Tuesday, December 6

Genesis 3:8-15

Reflect

Eve and Adam’s decision to disobey, acting on their own, brought sin into the beautiful world that God made. All that they had – a perfect world with perfect intimacy with God, was not enough in their hearts, for they coveted what was forbidden, breaking their relationship with God, bringing sin and separation into all of creation. This set in motion God’s plan of restoration and redemption through Jesus’ victory over sin and death.

Through repentance, confession and faith in Jesus, we can live in hope. Even though His “heel” was bruised, Satan’s head was crushed by Jesus’ death and resurrection! Satan might bruise us in life, but his power is defeated by Jesus’ blood that covers those of us who believe.

Apply

If your heart is discouraged today, remember that there is hope as Jesus has already crushed Satan’s head and you can claim His victory over those areas that are under attack.
“Oh, victory in Jesus, my Savior forever
He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood
He loved me 'ere I knew Him and all my love is due Him
He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood”.
