Join us for ABOUND, Wednesday evenings at 6:15pm for supper, followed by a dynamic teaching and discussion time that runs from 7-8:30pm.
Formed by His Voice is a transformational discipleship course designed to help us hear and follow the voice of Jesus in daily life.
Running September through April, the course is divided into short modules, so you can join for the whole journey or for individual sections as you are able. Each week combines teaching, discussion, and practical steps for living as Jesus’ disciples today.
Everyone is invited to attend our Wednesday evening study nights but registration is required (below).

MODULE 1: God’s Voice Revealed (7 weeks)
Wednesdays, Sep 17-Oct 29
Week 1 (Sept. 17) – What is Discipleship? Why It Matters (Mike Pedde)
Discipleship is more than knowledge—it is a lifelong journey of hearing and responding to the voice of Jesus. This session introduces the call to follow Christ and why being formed by His voice is essential for true transformation.
Week 2 (Sept. 24) – The Bible: Inspired, Trustworthy, and Sufficient (Daniel Zander)
God speaks through His Word as the foundation of discipleship. We will explore how Scripture is inspired, trustworthy, and central for hearing His voice in our daily lives.
Week 3 (Oct. 1) – The Big Story: Creation → Christ → New Creation (Dan Schroth)
The Bible tells one grand story of God’s redemptive plan. Hearing His voice means locating our lives within the story from creation, through Christ, to the hope of new creation.
Week 4 (Oct. 8) – God the Father: Creator & Covenant‑Maker (Andrea & Nick Mitchell)
God the Father reveals His voice through creation and covenant. We will learn how His promises invite us to trust Him as our Creator and faithful Father.
Week 5 (Oct. 15) – God the Son: Fully God, Fully Human, Our Redeemer (Sasha Lushchyk)
Jesus Christ is the Word made flesh, the clearest revelation of God’s voice. Following Him means hearing His call and experiencing redemption through His life, death, and resurrection.
Week 6 (Oct. 22) – God the Holy Spirit: Presence, Power, and Guide (Daniel Zander)
The Spirit makes God’s voice personal and present, guiding us into truth and empowering us for life and mission. We will see how listening to the Spirit transforms us daily.
Week 7 (Oct. 29) – Living the Trinity: Community & Mission (Harrison Chang)
Father, Son, and Spirit form us into a people who live in loving community and join God’s mission in the world. To be formed by His voice is to share in the life of the Trinity together.
MODULE 2: Salvation in Jesus (5 weeks)
Wednesdays, Nov 5 - Dec 3
Here we focus on the human condition, the cross of Christ, and God’s gift of salvation by grace. Together we’ll unpack what it means to hear His voice calling us to repentance, faith, and new life. This module emphasizes the transforming love of Jesus that reconciles us to God.
Week 8 (Nov. 5) – The Human Condition: Sin & Separation – Dan Schroth
Humanity is broken by sin, unable to hear or follow God’s voice rightly. This session explores the reality of our separation from God and our desperate need for salvation.
Week 9 (Nov. 12) – Why Did Jesus Die? Atonement & Reconciliation – Gina Shimoda
At the cross, God spoke the loudest word of love and reconciliation. We will consider how Jesus’ death brings forgiveness, restores relationship with God, and defeats sin and death.
Week 10 (Nov. 19) – What is Salvation? Grace, Faith, New Life – Daniel Zander
Salvation is God’s gracious gift, received by faith and leading to new life in Christ. Hearing His voice means responding to grace with trust and obedience.
Week 11 (Nov. 26) – Following Jesus Daily: Repentance, Baptism, Discipleship – Harrison Chang
Discipleship is a daily response to God’s voice—turning from sin, being baptized into Christ, and walking in obedience as His followers. This week emphasizes practical steps of living in His way.
Week 12 (Dec. 3) – Advent Focus: The Word Became Flesh – Sasha Lushchyk
At Christmas, God’s voice became human in Jesus, dwelling among us. Advent reminds us that hearing His voice is possible because God entered our world in love and humility.
MODULE 3: The Christian Life & Spiritual Formation (4 weeks)
Wednesdays, Jan 21 - Feb 11
This section highlights how disciples grow through the Spirit’s work of transformation. We’ll explore holiness, spiritual practices, and God’s presence even in trials. The focus is learning to be shaped by His voice in every season of life.
Week 13 (Jan. 21) – The Holy Spirit & Transformation – Joel Tanasychuk
The Spirit forms Christ’s character in us as we listen and yield to His leading. Transformation comes by hearing His voice and walking in step with Him daily.
Week 14 (Jan. 28) – Obedience & Holiness – Andrea & Nick Mitchell
Hearing God’s voice calls us to live in obedience and holiness. We will explore how holiness is not rule‑keeping but Spirit‑led living that reflects God’s character.
Week 15 (Feb. 4) – Spiritual Practices: Sabbath, Simplicity, Rest… - Shone Williams
God speaks in rhythms of rest, simplicity, and dependence on Him. Practicing these disciplines helps us tune our hearts to His voice in the midst of a noisy world.
Week 16 (Feb. 11) – Trials & Suffering with Faith – Mike Pedde
God’s voice sustains us even in hardship. We will reflect on how suffering forms us in Christlikeness and how His presence brings hope in the midst of trials.
MODULE 4: : Christian Community & Life Skills (5 weeks)
Wednesdays, Feb 25 - Mar 25
Discipleship happens together, not in isolation. This module explores fellowship, serving with our gifts, generosity, compassion for the poor, and stewardship of creation. It helps participants connect hearing God’s voice with practical ways of living as His people in the world.
Week 17 (Feb. 25) – Life Together: Fellowship, Forgiveness, Accountability – Jeannie Buyer
Hearing God’s voice is not just individual but communal. True discipleship grows in relationships of grace, truth, and accountability as we follow Jesus together.
Week 18 (Mar. 4) – Responding to God’s Call and Serving with Our Gifts – Lia & Vijay Daniels
The Spirit calls and equips each believer with gifts to serve. Discipleship means hearing God’s voice in our calling and joyfully using our gifts for the good of His body.
Week 19 (Mar. 11) – Finances: Stewardship & Generosity – Mike Pedde
God’s voice calls us to live with open hands, stewarding resources for His kingdom. We will learn how generosity shapes our hearts and witnesses to God’s provision.
Week 20 (Mar. 18) – Serving the Poor & Marginalized – Sasha Lushchyk
Jesus’ voice is often heard among the least, the lost, and the overlooked. Following Him means serving with compassion and justice, reflecting His heart for the vulnerable.
Week 21 (Mar. 25) – Creation Care – Tyler Shannon
God’s creation declares His glory and invites us to listen. Discipleship includes stewarding the earth as part of our worship and witness to the Creator’s voice.
MODULE 5: Hope & Purpose (4 weeks)
Wednesdays, Apr 1 - Apr 22
God’s voice calls us into His mission and strengthens us with hope for the future. We’ll reflect on the cross, the resurrection, and the return of Christ, learning how to witness and persevere in faith. This module sends participants into the world with confidence, purpose, and hope in Jesus.
Week 22 (Apr. 1) – Special Focus: The Death of Jesus (Holy Week) – Harrison Chang
At the cross, God’s voice of love and sacrifice is fully revealed. This Holy Week reflection calls us to stand at the foot of the cross and hear His word of redemption.
Week 23 (Apr. 8) – The Church on Mission – Sasha Lushchyk
The risen Christ sends His people to bear witness in word and deed. To be formed by His voice is to join His mission of reconciliation in the world.
Week 24 (Apr. 15) – Evangelism & Sharing Your Story – Lia & Vijay Daniels
Hearing God’s voice leads us to share His good news with others. This week equips us to tell our stories with clarity and confidence, pointing others to Jesus.
Week 25 (Apr. 22) – The Return of Christ & New Creation – Harrison Chang
God’s final word is one of renewal and hope as Christ returns to make all things new. Hearing His voice strengthens us to live with expectancy and perseverance.
MODULE 6: Course Wrap-Up & Sending
Wednesdays, Apr 1 - Apr 22
In the final session, we celebrate God’s work over the year and revisit the call to be disciples who hear His voice. We’ll affirm what has been learned and practiced in Scripture, community, and life. The course concludes with a commissioning to keep walking with Jesus in daily life.
Week 26 (Apr. 29) – Persevering in Hope: Course Wrap‑Up & Sending – Dan Schroth
Discipleship is a lifelong journey of listening to God’s voice and following Jesus. This final session reviews what we’ve learned, celebrates God’s work, and commissions us to keep walking with Him.
