- Giving newcomers opportunities to discover/support their faith in God
- Offering a safe, caring place to belong within a faith community
- Building authentic relationships cross-culturally with our new neighbours
- Providing an opportunity to develop English skills on which to build a successful life in Canada

WHAT IS THE COURSE ABOUT?
This course will help you practice reading, writing, and listening in English. We will use small discussion groups for you to interact on important topics for living in Canada.
IS THE MELL 2 COURSE GOOD FOR ME?
MELL 2 is for those who:
- Have completed the MELL 1: Let’s Learn English Class. (Spring or Fall 2023)
OR
- You have taken a beginner English class somewhere else.
AND/OR
You can understand most short sentences or common questions on everyday topics. (eg. Where is the bank? What do you do for work? What is your phone number?)
- Can talk 1-on-1 or in small groups, with a bit of help
- Know your English letters and sounds
- Can read short stories or texts with key vocabulary help and discussion
- Write grammatically correct simple sentences, with some errors.
- Are at an Advanced Beginner (CLB 3-4) or Low Intermediate Level (CLB 5-6)
