John 1:1-14
Reflect
We hope for all kinds of things, for all kinds of reasons. At times our hope is what we call wishful thinking. What we have in the beginning of the Gospel of John is a message of hope that is not wishful thinking but an absolute, a certainty, and the truth. John so beautifully describes for us how Jesus is our Hope. The hope that comes through Christ as our Creator, our true light and our Saviour is the Word who became flesh and made His dwelling among us in order to rescue us from the darkness.
Apply
As we enter into the season of Advent, I pray that we do so knowing we have the hope of
Jesus who came to earth to make it possible for us to experience life as God intends, by having a right relationship with God. And that we live in the light of God’s promise that there is a coming day when Jesus returns, and we will enter fully into the presence of Jesus.
