Matthew 13:53-58

Reflect

In the margin of my Bible I have written, “tough to break old stereotypes” next to today’s passage. The people around Jesus didn’t recognize who Jesus really was because they were still seeing Him as someone who grew up in the neighbourhood. They tied Him to His family and possibly what they did or were like. Have you ever experienced this? Being typecast based on your family or where you grew up or maybe your past? People don’t take you seriously or believe what God is doing in your life. They only remember the “old” you. I want to encourage you today to not let this hold you back from living in the reality of who you are in Jesus. Some people may not get it or understand it, but don’t let that keep you from living out your true identity as a son or daughter of the Most High. 1 Samuel 16:7 reminds us that the Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.

Harry and Myrna Lynn Lindenberg - Desert Streams Healing Ministries
Our ministry’s primary focus is on the healing of the inner person, but we desire to see healing come to the whole person! We love partnering with God to help people get free from brokenness and bondage. The primary services we provide are: personal ministry appointments, a couple of healing retreats per year, and our LiFE School of Healing and Discipleship (4 courses in total, with one course presented every spring and fall). We currently have three people on staff, and a volunteer ministry team of approximately thirty people. Myrna Lynn and I serve as the directors of Desert Streams. We have four adult children who are doing well. Please pray that God would continue to give us much grace, guidance and growth for 2020 as we work with Him to “Help people come to Life!”
