Devotional Guide for Friday, March 27

Matthew 21:28-46

Reflect
Before jumping into my devotional, I want to take a moment to remind you all that no matter where things are at today, we can put our hope in the unfailing faithfulness of a God who is fully in control. There is nothing happening now that takes God by surprise. More than anything else today, I want to encourage you to lean into Him in this season.
Today we read a passage of a few different parables of Jesus that speak to how we respond to the faithfulness of God. These passages make it clear that belonging in God's Kingdom is not something we inherit because of our heritage, it's not something that we receive once and forget about. Rather, God's Kingdom is something that is available to anyone regardless of race, status, or history. The only pre-requisite to receiving God's Kingdom is our willingness and obedience leading to lives of fruitfulness. Jesus' parables strongly judge those whose lives do not reflect these things.
We are in a difficult season but I think that what is happening in the world is an opportunity for us to live lives of fruitfulness and impact. This is the type of life that Jesus is inviting us to, and it's available to everyone! Let's share Christ’s life and light in whatever we do, how we engage with Him, take care of one another, and love our neighbours.
