Psalm 112

Reflect

We’ve been going through a season where it feels like everything is changing sometimes daily or even hourly. What we hear one time is different the next time, plans that we had are constantly changing, many of us are either missing or needing to change some major celebrations and events; nothing is what we imagined it would be. So, what do we make of all of this? How do we cope with everything changing? This psalm gives us a picture of someone who delights in the Lord. A few words that describe this person that jump out to me are words like steadfast, trusting, secure, and endures.

Even during everything changing, the one who delights in the Lord can have a heart that is steadfast, can trust in God, can feel secure, and endure forever. That’s the kind of person I hope to be.

How have you been processing all the changes and losses of this season? How can you lean into God, trust in Him, and have a heart that is steadfast and secure? How can we trust today that God has good things in store for us, if we would delight in Him and His commands?
