Devotional Guide for Thursday, June 10

1 Peter 3:8-22

Reflect

The last year has been difficult for so many. What has made some of it even harder is the divide in opinion on how life should have gone or should be going. It is with this as a backdrop that I read verses 8-9. “Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another, be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble…”

We are given a great challenge as believers in and followers of Jesus Christ. Our actions should be different than those who don’t know Jesus.

Apply

Today as you interact with the world around you, how are you being a blessing and bringing a blessing to those around you? One place to start is to read verse 8 again and see how you can put it into action.

Pray for Chain of Love – NAB Brazil
Chain of Love Homes was founded by an NAB missionary couple from North America in 1993 to look after children in great jeopardy and to provide them a better life centred on Christ’s love and Biblical principles. We have built eight houses on a campus in Campo Bom, Brazil. Each home has up to ten children who are cared for by two loving houseparents, a committed married Christian couple who may also have biological children living with them. We also manage four off-campus homes in the nearby city of Novo Hamburgo. The ministry is now under Brazilian leadership. In every house we aim to create an environment as close as possible to the routine of an ordinary Christian family. The children study in public schools, help with daily chores, play, have fun, and are taught about the Bible. Many accept Jesus as their Saviour. We aim to pass on Christian values to our children and teenagers and to teach them to be responsible. Our goal is to see genuine transformation in all areas of their lives.
