Devotional Guide for Monday, July 25

2 Chronicles 18:28-19:3

Reflect

King David in Psalm 139 reminds us there is nowhere we can go that God is not there. Whether we are running towards God or away from Him, God sees us. Daniel was seen in the lion’s den and God protected him. Jonah was seen in the storm and God re-routed him.

Ahab made many poor choices in life, not the least of being the murderer of Naboth so that he could get a nice garden. The results of these poor choices culminated in God calling Ahab to account for his actions. Despite Ahab’s best efforts to hide from the consequences that had been established by God, Ahab answered to God for his wicked ways.

In Galatians 6 Paul reminds us that God will not be mocked, and we will harvest the fruit of our life’s work, be that good or evil. This may cause us to be comforted, or it may cause us to be concerned. No matter how we have conducted ourselves up to this point, what we also know is that God is merciful to those who come to Him with an attitude of repentance. Today take Jesus’ teaching on prayer and ask our most Holy God to forgive your sins. Then extend that forgiveness to those who have sinned against you.  He will extend to you His mercy and grace. Thanks be to God.
