Genesis 49:29-50:14
Reflect
In Genesis 12:2 God made a covenant with Abram to make him into a great nation and then make his name great. So why am I referencing Genesis 12 when our passage today is Genesis 49?
With the funeral procession for Jacob, we see a fulfillment of this promise made in Genesis 12. All of Egypt stops and pays attention with great pomp and circumstance at the passing of Abraham’s grandson.
God keeps His promises. Sometimes the fulfilment of those promises takes longer than maybe we would like. Sometimes the fulfillment is in instalments, and we miss seeing the work of God along the way because we are just looking for the finished product.
Today spend some time reflecting on your faith heritage. Take time to look for the hand of God being at work in your life, the life of your parents, grandparents, etc. and thank God for being a God who keeps His promises.

Missionary of the Week – Becki Lee (AIA)
Becki Lee has been on staff for 17 years with Athletes in Action in Guelph, ON. Becki understands this firsthand, as she herself came to know Jesus personally through AIA while playing rugby at McMaster University in 2000. It has been so encouraging to see the Lord provide a wonderful team of student leaders and volunteer staff members for the AIA University of Guelph team (following Becki's colleague moving to B.C.) last year, but it would be lovely to have some full-time staff or interns here, so please pray for that. As well, a significant number of core members of the AIA Guelph community graduated this spring and there is a possibility of both of the current volunteer staff moving on to other ministry opportunities. Please continue to pray for new athletes to get involved and leaders to be surfaced and developed.
