Matthew 9:1-8
Reflect
In Malaysia, I prayed with a young lady that had a raised rash all over her body except her face and hands. After she had forgiven her ex-Muslim boyfriend, was anointed with oil and asked Jesus to heal her, she was totally healed with no rash within 3 weeks.
In another healing there, a woman had the same type of rash and was healed when she prayed through her generational line and forgiving.
Both times, my faith exploded.
Forgiveness was the key to healing for these ladies as it is in this passage.
We don’t know what the paralytic’s sins were but Jesus saw his heart and said “your sins are forgiven”. Forgiveness happened before the healing.
This speaks to me that unforgiveness can be a blockage to healing. Keeping short accounts is essential to our freedom in Christ.
Jesus saw the faith of the paralytic’s friends. Watching Jesus heal would have grown the faith of the people who saw it (except the Scribes). They glorified God which is why He heals and chooses to heal through us. He deserves all the glory and praise and our faith!
May we always be in awe of what God does and how He chooses to work through us.
