1 Thessalonians 2:1-12
Reflect
What’s the most courageous thing you have ever done? What was happening that you needed this courage? Where did you draw your strength for the courage required? Did you ever give thought to giving up due to the opposition you faced?
I admire Paul’s determination and confidence. In verse 2 Paul lets the readers know where they found the courage to declare the gospel of God even in the face of great opposition. Paul and his travelers found their courage in God.
Just like Paul and his travellers, we have a choice when confronted with a difficult situation. We can either focus on the barriers and possible challenges that are before us, or we can focus on God who can give us all we need to carry on.
I love how verse 8 gives us a glimpse into why they were so determined to share the gospel. It was because the message is that important, but also because of how deeply they cared for the people.
May you find your courage in God today to be like Paul and his travellers and share the gospel of God and your lives with those who need it.
