Preparation for Sunday, April 7

Mark 4:1-20; 30-32

This morning Pastor Lyle continues a series of sermons around the theme “Dwelling in Christ”, in which we are focusing on a number of the questions that Jesus asked His followers. Today, we focus on the question, “What is the Kingdom of God like?” Though only found in some form three times in the Gospels, it is a question that Jesus frequently answered. When Jesus told parables, He was very often describing some aspect of what it looks like when God’s reign is established in the lives of people and in the world. Time only allows us to look at two parables today, the parable of the sower and the soils, and the parable of the mustard seed (we’ll add the parable of leaven from Luke 13:20-21.) We’ll see how God’s reign grows in the soil of humble hearts and challenges us to develop Kingdom eyesight.
