Acts 8:1-8
Reflect
Living in Edmonton my whole life, it’s hard for me to really wrap my head around what it would be like to live in a place or time where the church was being so severely persecuted. It’s so far outside of my realm of experience. But even so, it can be so easy for us to look at the hardships that we face and complain about what is happening. I’m not saying this will be case for all the hard things that we face, but in the story of early Christianity in the first century, the persecution and scattering that they experienced actually turned out to be something good, and something that furthered the advancement of the Gospel. Because the church was scattered, the story of Jesus was scattered.
Apply
Sometimes life is just hard, and that’s ok. But when you look at the things that you’re facing today, is there anything that’s happening that maybe is an opportunity in disguise? Maybe even something that you can look forward to with a change of perspective?
